Split Pea Soup

I’m not a split pea soup fan, but when it comes to THIS recipe, I could eat pea soup ’till it’s coming out my ears!  Really, it’s that good - no joke!  And it’s really cheap!

 

Split Pea Soup

 

1 pound split peas
1 pound Jimmy Dean sausage
10 C. water
5 bouillon cubes
1 chopped onion
3 carrots chopped
5 cloves garlic chopped
2 ribs celery chopped
4 potatoes chunked
1/2 tsp. oregano
2 bay leaves

Brown sausage on stove top.  Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.  Cook for ~ 5 hours on high.
Peas will be completely dissolved to look like a thin green sauce consistency.
