a little of who i am

I am, first and foremost, a grateful and dedicated daughter to the King of all kings.

I am a happily married woman, of almost ten years, to the love of my life; a wonderful man that loves me unconditionally despite myself.

I am a reformed-public-school-teacher-gone-homeschool for the sake of my two highly spirited daughters, 13 & 6, and their zeal for life beyond my comprehension.

My life is filled to the rim with my husband’s wacky, although many times very useful, inventions.

I am a co-owner to one dangerously needy Golden Retriever named Sandra-Dee (Sandy) that has way too much hair at any given time of the year and thinks that she is somehow an 85 lb. lap-dog.

I am the rightful owner of one green bird named Gillie that loves to play with cat toys, but despises the cat.

I am also the rightful owner of the, above mentioned, ever-so-finicky cat, named Gabby, who followed me home so many years ago, and can never quite seem to catch the bird.

I find that each and every day, more pets join our family, however long or short-lived, as they happen to come in the bug box, whether a snake, lizard, or stink bug.

My passion is decorating OLD on a shoe-string budget and cringe at reading articles of people spending thousands of dollars to remodel any given room in their house.

I love refurbished, recycled, regenerated artifacts of old that I can display that will spur on a conversation with any given person.

I found my way into my husband’s heart through [his stomach] my love for cooking and baking.

I enjoy relishing in God’s grand creation and reading anything that can help me become a (1) better person  (2) better decorator  (3) better cook.

I will occasionally let my husband beat me at a game of “Championship Sorry” just to allow him the grandeur in it.

I will venture into any given thrift store to find that “diamond in the rough” and undoubtedly come out with someone else’s trash.

I love the mountains and still find myself touching them to make sure they’re real.

I love [holding] my husband’s hands and the security I find in them.
